Make Up: The Winter Edit


I love looking at what other people are actually using on a daily basis, the things they reach for day in and day out, because sometimes it isn't always the things we are reviewing, or new in etc. Sometimes it is a fall back favourite... so here is what is currently being used at the moment, hope you enjoy :)


Base 

I have been in love with my YSL Blur Primer over the past few months, it is such a good product to set your skin with. For foundation I have been using up my Estee Lauder Double Wear in the shade 1N1, this still isn't my absolute favourite, but I need to use it up before I think about getting anything else. To it's defence I do enjoy it - beautiful finish... but I prefer Nars Sheer Glow... (Sorry!) 

For concealer I have still been using my trusty Urban Decay Naked Concealer. Without a doubt the best concealer I have ever used. For setting powder I typically reach for the Vichy Loose Setting Powder* to bake, then the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Diffused Light. 

Bronzer I have been obsessed with my Chanel Tan De Chanel, this is hyped for a reason, it is stunning! Blends beautifully and just sets to perfection. Everyone should have this in their stash :) As for Contour it is all about the Sleek Contour Palette. I have now hit pan on the darkest shade - the only downside is you need to repurchase the full palette when you finish one! :( 

Blush I have been reaching for the Becca Christmas Palette, especially the shade wisteria, a perfect mauve toned pinky purple. Then highlighting with Becca's Collaboration with Jaclyn Hill - Champagne Pop. Stunning. Perfection. I then finish off using Gerard Cosmetic Slay All Day Spray in Peach Scent!




Eyes

I always use my MAC paint pot in Soft Ochre for an eye base now, it is perfect for my skin tone. For eyeshadow it is typically my MAC x6 palette, I love Amber Lights, Sumptuous Olive & Red Brick. It is just my perfect colours and formula. Liner is my trusted Seventeen Wet Look Liner, I just cannot find anything better than this one, and I think I have stopped even looking for anything else! Then the Grandiose Mascara from Lancome - which is really nice (but not worth £25!) 





LIPS

I have been loving MAC lip liner "Edge to Edge" with Dior 772 "Classic" Lipstick. Perfection in a lip shade, but if I have a warm eye it has been the Chanel Lipstick in 174. I don't think I have worn anything else over the past month, and I cannot see the obsession going anywhere anytime soon!

    The Dior 772 Classic is so nice, the perfect shade between an almost berry and a pinky red. I have been so into warmer eye shadows lately and even in the summer time I think it's great!

    I did like the finish of Double Wear but I got totally the wrong shade matched to my face (think it was almond?) and so i was walking around for months with a face that looked orange AND ashen at the same time! I mixed it with sheer glow to tone it down a bit until it was finally used up. I've almost finished up the matching EL concealer which I use to colour correct since its so orange but honestly, the experience puts me off even trying DW again. I do love Nars sheer glow but my favourite foundation has to be Armani's Luminous Silk in 4 - best foundation out there!

      Oh no!! nothing worse than having the wrong shade, I think I would cry! No wonder you have been put off! I keep seeing people talk about Luminous silk and it might just have to happen once my DW is finished! Heard a few people rave about it! Just need to get matched for it! - wish there was a counter nearby :(

    I love the swatches, such gorgeous colours! I like the sound of YSL foundation, I may need to give that one a try :)
