I say so many times on here OMG I cannot get enough of *insert item* its usually nude lipsticks, brown eyeshadows and highlighters. Because I really can never have enough...
But there are some products out there that I just will not have more than one of in my collection, I am on a strict one in - one out, won't have two of rule. I didn't ever mean to do this, but these are the things I simply don't feel the need to buy more of - until I am finishing the one I am using. Obviously there will be slight brakes to this, but most of the time this is it. So here are the products that I do this with - They tend to be colourless....
1. Primer. Currently Using: YSL Blur Primer
Primer just doesn't excite me. I have big pores and oily skin, I have never been outright impressed by a primer so one which will do the job does me fine. Maybe I should invest in more, but right now I won't - until this one is finishes - cause it was EXPENSIVE. lol
2. Foundation. Currently Using: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear
I love foundations, but I am a lover of full coverage foundation, as much as occasionally I will try to pretend I like less coverage - this isn't the case. I use one foundation at a time, and I spend HOURS investigating which one will be the next one, because I do not want to be disappointed by a base. There is nothing worse. I went from MAC Studio Fix, to Nars Sheer Glow, to Double Wear, To this one. I use it up and buy another. This one is AMAZING. It stays put on my oily skin, and I have a funny feeling this will be the first one I repurchase (maybe)
3. Concealer. Currently Using: Kat Von D Lock-It
I need concealer as much as the next makeup lover. I have big under eye bags. So I use it like mad. I just hate the idea of having so many open tubes, so I now just do one in, one out. The problem I am having with this one - is I stupidly let the girl colour match me, and it isn't pale enough *cries* - but still, I will finish it before buying another one. Because they go gunky and off quickly. And I have no need for lots.
4. Eye Shadow Primer. Currently Using: MAC Paint Pot "Soft Ochre"
This works. Why would I buy another? I just don't see the point - it does the job.
5. Setting Powder. Currently Using: Essence All About Matt
Again, this works, its cheap, it does a good job, There is no point in having another one (unless its for putting in my handbag) this is the best one though, this is my 3rd in a row, I love it.
6. Setting Spray. Currently Using: Gerrard Cosmetics Slay All Day Peach
AKA fancy water. These last for ages, and even then I feel like I am buying expensive water, but I don't see the point in having too many of them, I mean they are good, and I use them for eyeshadows all the time, but I just don't see the difference between them all, if you buy a good one there is no point in having more than one.
7. Mascara. Currently Using: Loreal Baby Roll
These dry up and go off so quickly. These also freak me out with regards to eye infections. So instead of replacing every 6 months I replace every 3-4. This means I only have one open at a time to ensure I am getting my money worth.
8. Liquid Eye Liner. Currently Using: BarryM Eye Define
Exactly the same as the mascara, I just don't see the point in having a lot of them, I know what works, and I know what I am looking for - and these dry out so quick, and I like to replace them often :)
I hope I haven't offended anyone here, I am in no way saying you cannot have more than one of these, it is just the things I choose to keep one of, and the things I don't get as excited by!

I only like to have one eyeshadow primer and setting spray! That's the only thing in my collection that I like to have one, or maybe at least two!

ReplyDeleteI totally get this! I always used to only have one foundation and concealer but recently I've been trying out new ones so this has changed! But I still try to use them a lot before I purchase a new one and then have them on rotation when I do. Also I'm totally freaked out by mascara good gunky! Do eyeshadow primers do this too? I think I'm in need of a new one!

I tend to be the same with most of this list, I only have on primer, one foundation, one concealer and so on. I'm trying to use up all of my mascara minis at the moment and it's nearly impossible.

Love this post! I try to be vigilant with how many mascaras I have open too. I totally agree with setting sprays, I never can quite tell whether it's making a difference and if one is better than another brand!
