Top 5 High End Lipsticks (& Swatches)

Finding the perfect lipstick can be a mission in itself, but an enjoyable one at least. I have found my heart well and truly belongs to a matte formula, a creamy one, a nude one. Every single one of my favourites have been matte - but I always promise to be honest on here, and this is honest and real... I just love a matte lippy.

In No Order (Because I just love them all)...

Dior Rouge Matte Lipstick "772" £27.50
This one is like MAC Mehr but more intense, I love the formula, I love the finish, I love the shade. The smell is a bit odd - but its forgiven. Think a mauvey pinky shade, which looks like your lip colour only bolder, but isn't 100% bold. Totally unique shade, and I don't have anything else like it.

MAC Velvet Teddy (Matte) £15.50
This is the one shade that looks totally different on everyone yet seems to completely suit everyone. I love the look of this with a really bold eye. This is hyped for a reason, and it has well and truly earned the hype.

Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria £24.00
I've had this one for a while but find myself using this constantly right now, the formula is incredible. Really really beautiful... probably my favourite... but Very Victoria is just a perfect rosy nude shade, it is the perfect in between of the two MAC shades.

MAC Honey Love (Matte) £15.50
A pale girls best friend. This is my ideal nude lipstick, my most used nude lipstick (and as if you cannot tell by now I really love a nude lipstick) This one is stunning with a darker lip liner, ombre effect.

Clinique Ruby Pop £16.00
This was a bit of a random purchase, but I'm so glad I did.. I reach for this one on days where I cannot be bothered doing a full face but still want to look like I have made an effort. It is one of two red lipsticks I own, and I love it.

I also have a Top 5 Drugstore Lipstick coming up soon, so keep an eye out on that!

So which high end lipstick is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below :)

  19. Velvet Teddy has been my favourite lipstick for over a year now, and I've nearly finished up my tube of it which makes me sad, although it does give me an excuse to try CT's Very Victoria instead.

  37. I really like matte lipsticks too, and always go for higher quality lipsticks with that finish so that they don't dry out the lips. Very Victoria is such a beautiful shade, makes me want to get new Charlotte Tilbury makeup :P
