I would normally go for a fresh quite subtle look everywhere else. Reaching for a good coverage foundation and a glowing skin. I love the make up revolution radiance palette for this, it just makes me look so healthy. Brilliant dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Trio.
For Eyes I will opt for either a matte soft eye using the Naked Basics palette, or go for a neutral shimmer with all that glitters & Mulch.. usually no eyeliner, but lots of mascara.
For cheeks I will go for something subtle again like MAC's "Blush Baby" the perfect flush of colour.
Now, onto the good bit.
Finding a good plummy red colour could be quite hard, so I have picked out my favourites, ranging from inexpensive.. to YSL prices, but all are equally as beautiful.

without a doubt my favourite at the moment is the Maybelline Devine Wine, something about the smooth matte finish I am completely obsessed with. It's all over my instagram!
