I feel like the one thing my blog is always missing is more about my actual life. I mean sure I chatter away about makeup, and will throw the odd bit of personal information into those and favourites posts, but I never actually take the time to update you all on things other than what I am lusting over or purchased in the makeup world. So I thought I would change my structure around a little and play with a life update, let me know if it is something you like, or you would rather I talk about lipstick... because I understand that - I will try to make them fun regardless.

The Portaloo & The Yellow Dress
First up I cannot express my sadness enough. I fell, arse over heels, onto the floor of a (disabled) portaloo. Luckily it had only just opened, but even then it will be marked as one of the worse/funniest (well now anyway) experiences of my life. Lying on the floor, questioning my life, while my Mum looked on in horror, terrified to laugh because I am on the verge of a mental breakdown due to my utter fear of the blue boxes people insist on hiring to urinate in. Sure, I can look back and laugh now, but no, they should be banned from weddings (or at least have a disclaimer on the wedding invite - like hey, might want to bring hand wash and wipes lol).
Anyways, aside from that I also got red wine splashed on my yellow dress *cries* Luckily ChiChi then emailed to say my perfect dress had gone into the sale, so I bought a 2nd, two sizes smaller. *wish me luck* Because I need to diet.

Camping, Digger Land & Flamingo Land (In the Rain)
So we spent 3 nights camping, in a tent, in Yorkshire. The weather wasn't terrible, but it really wasn't the best either. AJ LOVED digger land, to be fair is was really cool. Picture a £100,000 JCB digger with a harness on the bucket to sit in and be spun around. Every 5 year olds dream.
We then went to Flamingo Land which was even better, I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it was. The rides were incredible, and the Zoo was even better! We seen so many animals, it was fab.
Slight issue when we got stuck at the top of the big raft ride, AJ was squealing "we are all gonna die" in a 5 year old attempt to be funny, needless to say it didn't go down well when someone arrived to say we actually were stuck. Luckily it wasn't for long!

Parks, Feeding Birds, Sleepovers & picnics
The majority of this month has been spent with a certain little boy with him being off school. I am exhausted now! We have done pretty much everything over the past 6 weeks, but mostly it has been as much outside time as we can fit in.
Highlights have definitely been LOADS of ice cream, lots of eating sandwiches in the park, lots of time lying on the grass. We went to feed the ducks one day and a swan (and ducks) were taking the bread straight out of our hands... it was the most odd experience, but very cool.
Summer holidays are always long and eventful, and although they were lots of fun, and it was so good to spend time with my boy - I am so happy they are done, and he is away back to school. Sorry AJ - but all my money is gone! :)

Blair Drummond Safari Park
The last week of the summer holidays we always like to do something pretty special, so this year we decided Blair Drummond would be fun. In Scotland Blair Drummond is really well known. It has loads of animals, a big play area, boats, a zip line. You can take a boat along to "monkey island" where monkeys will throw poo at you (no joke) you can see the sea lion show, then to finish it all up you get to drive through (in your own car) an enclosure with Lions, a rhino, monkeys, camels, all the animals. It is a very weird experience. But SO much fun.
When we went a rhino almost wrecked a girls car - I don't think I have ever been so nervous. And luckily the monkeys were on their best behaviours - as they have been known to pull off ariels, wing mirrors etc. They had just had babies though, so much cuteness! :)
As usual my favourite bit was the Giraffes though, so cool!

Back to School & Normality
AAAAAAAND back. *sigh* So happy.
Here in Scotland we are off from the very start of July through to mid August, this is very normal here - and yes - totally different to English holidays! :) This seems to be the most commonly said thing to me the past 6 weeks - I didn't think this was uncommon knowledge, as I grew up in the 90s and being left with terrible day time TV until the English schools came off - back in the days of CBBC.
So AJ is back to school. He is now in Primary 2, and will be turning 6 at the very end of the month. He is far too excited.
First day back went well though, he is tired, but happy to be back and playing with his friends. He is happy he isn't the youngest anymore, and a new line of P1s are taking his place.
What have you been up to this month? What has been your highlight? Let me know in the comments below :)
